Steel battery box
A stainless steel battery box protects the battery from the elements in every possible way. Stainless steel is an alloy of several metals, including iron, chromium and nickel, and is known for its corrosion resistance and durability. Battery boxes and battery trays are used to protect and secure batteries from damage and leakage. Stainless steel provides additional protection against corrosion and rust in this respect. The top of the stainless steel battery box is made of plastic. The battery tray in our range must be mounted in a standard box. The stainless steel battery box is suited for one 85 Ah/180 Ah/230 Ah battery. In addition to battery boxes, Tilbox also has various stainless steel underbody boxes.
Galvanised battery box
A galvanised battery box is immersed in a liquid to apply a protective layer to its surface. This is done to give the battery box added protection against corrosion and other forms of wear and tear. A layer of zinc is applied to the surface of the container to galvanise it. This layer provides effective protection against moisture, grit, acids, and other substances that can shorten the life of the battery box. Galvanised battery boxes are usually more durable and last longer than non-galvanised battery boxes, making them a good investment. The galvanised battery box has a sturdy lockable plastic lid that may be walked on.
Battery box with lid
A battery box with lid provides additional protection for batteries from dirt, dust and moisture, and can help prevent battery damage during transport. The lid of a battery box is made of plastic and is splash-proof. The use of a battery box with lid is recommended when storing and transporting batteries, especially if a battery is exposed to harsh conditions or if several batteries need to be transported at the same time. By using a battery box with lid, you ensure that the battery remains safe and protected. A battery box with lid can extend your battery’s service life. The battery box lid is also available separately.
What is a battery box?
A battery box is a container that has been specially designed for storing and transporting batteries securely and efficiently. Battery boxes are made of durable materials, such as plastic or metal. They have special compartments to keep batteries in place and protect them from damage during transport or storage.
Battery box for safety
Battery boxes are important because batteries can contain hazardous substances that can be harmful to health and the environment. If a battery is damaged or leaks, these hazardous substances may be released and can be potentially harmful to the environment. Battery boxes help prevent this because they can be used to securely store and protect batteries. In addition, battery boxes are also required to comply with transport regulations. Many batteries are classified as dangerous goods, which is why they must comply with specific packaging and labelling regulations. Battery boxes are designed for compliance with these regulations and to ensure that batteries can be transported securely. Tilbox boxes meet all the highest standards in terms of safety, design, and functionality. Our boxes are produced according to NEN-EN-ISO 9001:2015 and come with CE-certification and ECE R73 certification.
Types of battery boxes
There are different types of battery boxes available, depending on the type of battery and the application. Some battery boxes are designed for storing small batteries, while others are intended for large industrial batteries. You must choose the right battery box based on the specifications of the battery and the application.
How to mount your battery box?
We have all kinds of mounting hardware for mounting boxes. Our battery boxes comes with two stainless steel mounting profiles for mounting the battery. The battery box can also be mounted without these profiles, against the longitudinal members of the chassis. Mounting a battery box on a trailer may require a different approach. Everything depends on the type of trailer and the battery box used. In general, there are a number of steps you need to follow to mount a battery box on a trailer, without profiles, against the longitudinal members of the chassis.
Step 1: Choose the right location
Choose a suitable location on the truck or trailer where you want to mount the battery box. This may vary depending on the size of the battery box and the type of truck. Make sure the location is safe and that the battery box is not in the way of other truck components.
Step 2: Mount the battery box
Mount the battery box in the location of your choice and secure it with the right mounting brackets. This may vary depending on the type of battery box used and the truck. You may need screws, bolts, or clamps for this.
Step 3: Connect the wiring
Connect the battery’s wiring to the truck’s wiring. This is an important step because the battery supplies power to the truck.
Step 4: Test the battery box
Check whether the battery box is connected correct and test it before operating the truck. You can do this by starting the truck and checking that everything is working properly.
Follow the instructions
Please follow the instructions supplied with the battery box and truck when mounting the battery box to ensure that the installation is carried out correctly and safely.
